Job Description
Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking a Contract specialist to support our team. The ideal person will assist with collecting and organizing information required for preparation of documents, training materials, proposals, and reports. Contract negotiations as well as the managing of multiple projects will be expected. This specialist will also maintain a system of gathering information to update our inventory and service records.
Dobbs Defense Solutions, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Contract Specialist to support federal contracting operations. This position is responsible for cradle-to-grave contract management, supporting pre- and post-award activities, and ensuring compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), internal policies, and client requirements. The ideal candidate brings over 15 years of experience in federal contracting, procurement support, administrative operations, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with FAR and contract terms
- Draft, review, and administer a wide range of contractual documents, including:
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Teaming Agreements (TAs)
- Independent Contractor Agreements (ICAs)
- Coordinate and support proposal development, including review of solicitation documents for compliance and input on contractual requirements
- Prepare and support the issuance of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and ensure vendor compliance
- Conduct market research and assist in the development of Statements of Work (SOW), Acquisition Plans, and Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
- Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders, clients, and vendors regarding contract questions, deliverables, and modifications
- Track contract milestones, deliverables, and renewals using internal contract databases
- Collaborate with finance to reconcile invoicing and resolve discrepancies with subcontractors and vendors
- Participate in proposal and evaluation teams, and support documentation of award decisions
- Provide operational and administrative support to the procurement process and lifecycle
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in federal government contracting, including pre- and post-award activities
- Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and the federal acquisition lifecycle
- Familiarity with procurement processing, including contract requisitions and vendor engagement
- Experience supporting civilian agencies (e.g., U.S. Department of State) and/or defense contracts
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), SharePoint, and contract management systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with contract lifecycle management tools
- Familiarity with WAWF, PIEE, and Unanet systems
- Background in administrative or financial reconciliation support
- Experience working in a team-based contract support environment
- Hybrid (onsite/offsite)
