Job Description:
Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking a self-driven and resourceful Senior SharePoint Engineer to provide engineering, integration, and cybersecurity support to design, build, and test enhanced services for the Department of Navy's IT architecture. Offers a wide range of roles, from cybersecurity experts to engineers specializing in systems, networks, software, and data center services.
Duties:
- Technical Lead to design, customize, and debug workflows (automate business processes), web sites, web parts, form and list/library, and other custom applications and/or tools using various programming languages (PowerShell, JavaScript, CSS, Microsoft .NET, HTML etc.) within the MS SharePoint environment
- Working with stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure alignment with business objectives
- Design a SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint SE migration and implementation plan
- Plan activities, schedules, risks, and resources needed for deployments or upgrades
- Provide technical execution and expertise in migrating current and future content from external systems into the SharePoint system
- Plan SharePoint search topology, strategy, and configure federated search
- Provide SharePoint site structure/navigational architecture guidance and execution, to include Communities of Practice (CoP), working areas, and websites based on established standards and best practices
- Perform SharePoint customization, integration, and upgrades into the engineering, test and production environments in accordance with Configuration Management, Change Management and Security policies and processes
- Integrating SharePoint with other business applications (e.g., CRM, ERP) and Microsoft products (e.g., Office 365, Teams, OneDrive)
- Make recommendations and perform installations of new major releases, product updates, hot fixes and service packs. Install and test recommendations as required
- Customize and implement tools and capabilities to include Dashboards, Web sites, Employee Library, and Reports for SharePoint
- Creating custom forms, templates, and web parts using tools like InfoPath and SharePoint Designer
- Creating and maintaining documentation for SharePoint solutions, including architecture, configurations, and procedures
- Implementing and managing security policies, permissions, and governance for the SharePoint environment
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting for SharePoint-related issues
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in engineering (or similar technical field) and eight (8+) years relevant experience; Masters degree and six (6+) years of relevant experience; PhD with three (3+) years of experience. 12 years of relevant experience in the above-cited duties may be substituted in lieu of a completed higher education degree.
- A current DoD 8140/8570 and IAT Level III certification
- A current/valid IAT LVL III Certification (Security+ CE, CCNP, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, and CCSP).
- Experience with the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure solutions for routing and switching of complex networks.
- Experience implementing and troubleshooting WAN topologies leveraging ethernet, T-Carrier, and Optical Carrier circuits.
- Experience and understanding of networking fundamentals such as network protocols and common services (e.g., DNS, FTP, SSH, SNMP).
- Implementation and troubleshooting experience of networks using concepts/protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs and emerging concepts such as Software Defined Networking.
- Prior experience supporting a Government and/or Department of Defense customer.
- An Engineering degree with a networking focus.
- Eight (8+) total years of experience in the architecture/design, development, and implementation of Wide Area Network (WAN) architecture.
- Exceptional verbal, written (including the development of CONOPS and procedural documentation), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience using Python to automate routine network tasks.
- Understanding and experience with Software Defined Network (SDN) deployments.
- Juniper Enterprise Routing and Switching, Professional (JNCIP-ENT).
- Advanced Network monitoring and log analysis tool experience with the ability to deploy and improve the current deployments of these systems.
- Experience working in a telecommunications carrier environment performing mission critical network implementations.
- Self-driven and resourceful in achieving goals independently as well as in cooperation with others.
- Experience with application of DoD IAVAs, DISA STIGs, and NIST security controls
Technical Skills:
- SharePoint Expertise: Strong knowledge of SharePoint 2016/2019 and SharePoint SE.
- Development Skills: Proficiency in .NET, PowerShell, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and REST APIs.
- Power Platform: Experience with PowerApps and Power Automate.
- Microsoft Graph API: Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API for automation and data integration.
- SQL Server: Knowledge of SQL Server for SharePoint database management, including experience with Always-On High Availability.
- Cloud Technologies: Experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals desired
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert desired
