Job Description:
Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Network Architect to test and analyze elements of network facilities, including power, software, security features, communications devices, communications lines, modems, and terminals and is responsible for the overall integration of the enterprise network. is also responsible for planning, modeling, simulation, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the network.

Duties:  
  • Review and analyze the existing network architecture and provide designs for the current and future modern WAN/MAN/LAN technologies
  • Recommend best practices such as SDN, Intent-based networking, and network segmentation protocols, etc., in order to improve the existing architecture and meet new networking requirements and standards
  • Design telecommunications circuit specifications
  • Identify the need for routers, switches, and encryption devices to support enterprise services
  • Deliver service catalog items for automatically provisioning network configurations to deliver Infrastructure-as -Code
  • Develop and maintain network architecture specifications and artifacts
  • Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
  • Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design.
  • Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options.
  • Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
  • Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations.
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Qualifications 
Required Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of Cisco experience; proven expertise with Cisco network hardware including: routers, switches, firewalls, unified communications equipment
  • Proven experience in VMware environments
  • Proven experience in virtual and physical Internet Protocol and Fiber Channel networks and routing protocols
  • Proven experience designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting LAN, WAN and low bandwidth networks protected by network encryptors
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF), DODAF 2.0 standards, and Change Management Processes to ensure smooth network updates and configurations. 
  • Experience designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting LAN, WAN and low bandwidth networks protected by network encryptors. 
  • Experience designing VMware NSX environments utilizing Software Defined Networking (SDN) principles.
  • Experience utilizing network management solutions based on Netflow and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
  • Information Assurance Certifications consistent with the 8570 IAT Level III
  • Current ITIL Foundation certification
  • Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE) and VMware VCP-NV certifications or a combination of the following Cisco certifications with other relevant network virtualization and cloud certifications: CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, CCIE Service Provider, CCIE Data Center
  • At least one of the following: Cisco Certified Specialist -Enterprise SD-WAN Implementation, Cisco Certified DevNet Expert, VMware Certified Advance Professional Network Virtualization Design (VCAO-NV)
  • At least one of the following: Microsoft Azure Network Engineer Associate OR AWS Certified Advance Networking -Specialty
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of CISCO (or similar) experience; 5 years of VMware experience utilizing virtual, physical Internet Protocol/Fiber Channel networks, and routing protocols
  • Knowledge of DISN (Department of Defense Information Network) or CANES (Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enter)

Salary Range:
Pay range information will be disclosed consistent with applicable state and local pay transparency laws once available. For this position, the anticipated salary range is $118,400.00-$122,100.00 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
